Welcome Parents/Mentors.

Your student is enrolled, or considering enrolling, in a GoFaR class or workshop. If you haven’t done so already, please watch the short Video on the Home Page and read the What is GoFaR? and How Does It Work? sections. They will give you important information about what your student will be experiencing during the GoFaR process.

We welcome you to the GoFaR community and hope you will see your student become more highly motivated to do his/her best work in school. This will happen if you and your student become "partners" in his/her achievement at school and beyond.

To be successful, your student will need to:

  • Attend all class or workshop sessions;
  • Complete all class and homework assignments;
  • Share his/her progress with you and ask for help, if needed; and
  • Work with other students to complete team projects.

These are the things you can do to help your student succeed:

  • Be involved with your student's progress in the GoFaR process;
  • Be in contact with his/her GoFaR teacher;
  • Ask if he/she needs your help with homework or other assignments;
  • Review his/her workbook to see if there are ways you can help;
  • Encourage him/her to ask the teacher for the help that you can’t provide; and
  • Acknowledge and celebrate his/her accomplishments throughout the process.

We appreciate your interest and involvement in GoFaR. We encourage you to use the "Contact Us" link at the top of the page to ask questions, express your opinion about how GoFaR is affecting your student, and/or share any issue or concern you have about GoFaR and your student's involvement in it.
